Born in a Christian family, whose father is a pastor, Augustine comes from a family of pastors. He grew in a disciplined home and comes from a CSI background. He was born in Visakapatnam, and studied in the coastal belt of A.P. After completing his schooling, went to Presbyterian seminary in Dehradun to do B.Th. After finishing his Theology, Augustine went back to Visakapatnam, where he worked as an Asst pastor after his ordination in Vijayawada in ’99 as a deacon by the CSI church. Later, went to St.Stephens church to pastor an English congregation. During the same time, he did a 3 yr course in M.Div in COTR, Church On The Rock theological seminary. In 2000 he got a Presbyterian ordination to be a full-fledged pastor. He joined the FGT in Oct 2001. With an interest in sports and engineering, Augustine’s aim was to become an Engineer, which is why he joined the merchant navy course, in his hometown. He wants to work in the ship and travel around the world. The lifestyle of a radio officer in a ship attracted him a great deal. But God’s plans were entirely different for his life. During a revival meeting, Augustine was born again and from then onwards life took a different turn. While doing missionary work for OM, he felt a call to serve God. He never wanted to become a pastor after seeing the way his father has struggled, in the ministry and the enormous responsibilities of pasturing a church. But God’s call for ministry was too strong to ignore. His father encouraged him to commit his life to Christ and serve Him. And once he took the decision, he has not regretted it. God has fulfilled his dreams of traveling across the world, as he got a chance to see Europe through his church. Being the only son of his family, he has a sister who is married; Augustine has led a smooth life, things happening one after another. Not much of a struggle for anything in life. He met his wife while studying at Dehradun. Her life and testimony inspired him to share his life with her. They were married in Chandigarh. Together they are serving the Lord, finding happiness in their call. Taking over an established church in the CSI mold was easy, there was no struggle. It was a smooth transition from bible college to pastor of a church. Though preaching in Telegu, his native language was initially tough. CSI has a set tradition and format, following it was not difficult, as Augustine has seen his seen father preach and lead a church for so many years. But his new responsibility of starting fresh and working in a new place is a challenge, with tough work ahead. His call is among the young people and teaching scriptural truths to new believers so that they are rooted in the faith from the beginning. Augustine and Anita joined FGT on 1st Oct, ’01. As they had expressed a desire to pastor Sahu many years ago, to serve God in North India, when there was an opening here for a pastoral couple, he called them over. At present he is working as an Assistant Pastor in Rohini Church. He and Anita conduct Bible study classes and do house visiting. Basically they are observing the scenario and learning, as it is a new field for them. His plan is to start English congregation next year and also to be a networking co-coordinator with BKGT. Anita will be involved in children and women’s ministry. He wants to develop youth ministry and want to strengthen believers with solid biblical doctrine and systematic biblical teaching. As he has led a very comfortable life as a pastor before coming here, he now feels everything has to be worked at with afresh and hopes to make a success of it. |

Dinesh Das was born in Aligarh, U.P, in a Hindu family. He is the last child among 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Agriculture was the family occupation as father had land and cattle. The family grew up financially stable even though there were some tough times for a while, which stabilized later on. After studying till 8th std. in the village, he came to Delhi to live with his brothers, where he completed 10th standard. Did not wish to continue his education, as he was not interested in studies. After leaving school he worked for some time in British Petroleum. He left it to go to Bible school in ’97. Dinesh used to go to church (Delhi Bible Church) regularly along with his brothers, most of who are born-again Christians now. Even though he was born and brought up in the Hindu faith, Dinesh never had any belief or faith in Hinduism. During one Sunday service, he was born again and committed his life to Christ. He decided to learn more about the Bible and for that purpose went to Grace Bible College in Gurgaon in ’97. But the atmosphere there disappointed him so much he left after one year. After going through a very difficult phase, spiritually, he turned to the Lord once again, this time with a commitment to serve Him. In ‘98, while doing ministry with a Pastor, he was anointed by the Holy Spirit, after which he started growing steadily in the Lord. Unlike most Hindus, Dinesh did not have a tough time believing in Christ and getting saved. Because, even as a young boy, when he heard about Christ, he believed on Him alone and not in idol-worship. He used to attend church every week along with his brothers, and one day when he heard about the life of Jesus Christ, he gave his heart to the Lord. Most of his family members are believers of the Lord Jesus Christ. His concern is for his father who is still a firm believer of the Hindu ideology. Dinesh had an arranged marriage to Zeeta in Dec 2000 in Delhi. The proposal came through a common friend of the families. Even though his wife belongs to Catholic faith, she believes in Christ, but for Dinesh it is another chief area of concern, that she too must be a born-again believer so that she lends him a helping hand in the ministry. Dinesh joined the FGT in July ’99. Prior to that he was doing ministry work with a Pastor. In ’98, when he felt sure about his call for the ministry, he gave himself completely to serve the Lord. He says his call is among the Hindus, as he comes from that background and he is confident working in their midst. Going by the response of unbelievers to his ministry, he feels encouraged to work for them, so that they are brought to the Lord. He is also doing a two-year course in theology in ICT.Dinesh is a pastor at M.R. Deiri. He has been working among the non-Christians at this slum, from Feb 2000 onwards. There are about 20 people attending the Church Service that is held every Sunday evening. All of them are from Hindu background. He also holds Cell Meetings in Haiderpur once a week. The responsibility given to him is to expand the Church, and cell groups. Another area is, to develop the Jeevan Jyoti Club, a Club for children that is a part of children’s ministry. He also conducts Bible study in Indira Vikas Colony once a week. And hold a fast prayer every Friday at MR Dairy. Also goes for house visiting and outreach. In the beginning when he joined FGT, and was asked to scout for a potential place to start a church in North Delhi zone, Dinesh had a tough time, as it is a Hindu dominated area, but by God’s grace slowly things started taking shape. It was very hard developing the church at MR Dairy, but thanks to the good relationship he has with the people at the slum, he feels encouraged that more people will turn to the Lord. His aim is to equip himself as a better Church Leader, grow strong spiritually and grow in faith to be able to handle responsibilities. He also wants to focus on his undergraduate course (B.A) whish he has just joined. His goal is to bring more people to the Lord, and to plant 3 more churches in the next 5 years, and at least 15 people from among the church who will come out to serve God. He feels that as things have gone smooth till now, God willing he will be able to achieve his goals. |

Anand was born in ’66, in Delhi in a family of 3 brothers and 9 sisters. He comes from a Hindu background. Has studied till 8th standard, after which he joined his family’s electrical business. Even now most of his family are still non-believers. He grew up as a rebellious and aggressive child, picking up fights with anyone who came his way. Later he started drinking and got into other bad habits. His family thought marriage would sober him down, but he remained the same. What changed his life were the consistent prayers of his sister and wife. His sister was a believer, and through her, his wife also accepted the Lord. When they got together, things started changing for the better. After he was born again, he went to Jaipur and served the Lord there. From then onwards life has been a steady flow and he joined FGT in 2000, where he continues to work in full-time ministry. Having led a very rough life, Anand’s life was transformed by the love and grace of the lord Jesus Christ. His Hindu background made it even tougher for him, to believe in Jesus. Once, his sister who is a believer and lives in Jaipur came to visit him and told his wife about Jesus Christ who alone has the power to change his life. His wife believed on the Lord and they began to pray for him. He used to beat his wife whenever she told him about Christ. One day when his wife was praying in the house, he got very angry and decided to beat her up, but something prevented him from doing so. He then slowly started hearing her read the Bible and attending the prayer sessions in his house. Finally when God worked in his heart, he committed his life to Christ and was born again in ’93 and took got baptism along with his wife. Except for him and his sister, the rest of his family members are still non-believers. In ’95, he went for bible study to Bangalore (Eternal Life Ministry) to do a 4 month-course. After that he came back to Delhi, went to Jaipur, to do independent ministry, and was there till ’99. When he came back to Delhi he continued to work in the family business to support himself financially along with doing ministry. He is married to Indu who cmes from Hindu Background and has accepted Christ and now is a Strong Believer, they have two daughters. She helps Pastor Anand in the ministry. His call came when he gave his life to Christ. He decided to serve the Lord and work among non-believers. And he has been doing that steadily since then. His commitment to the same brought him to FGT in 2000, and he has been doing that by taking care of a church. After he went to Jaipur, he got involved in church planting, and was there for a few years. When he joined FGT, he was given Nangal dairy where there is his church with about 25 believers. He also visits Nangloi, Sultanpuri, Sadnagar, Begumpur, Mangolpuri, where he conducts Bible study. He has faced many problems and struggles in the beginning in these areas, but slowly people have started accepting Christ and have been able to build a good rapport with the believers. His goal is to bring more souls to the Lord, and inspire the young and old with his testimony and salvation. His plan is to do ministry among more people and start cell meetings in new places. Also to construct our own church as the present one is on rent. Make disciples for Christ that is my aim.

Subodh Nag was born in a Christian family and had been to Sunday school, also participated in all competitions like song quiz, drama etc. But I was sunk in all kinds of sins, in this situation many times I promised to leave bad habits. But failed to do so, in this way many years passed but my life was not changed rather became worst . Once evening on 28th Oct, 1977 I was sitting in front of a betel shop with my friends at our College Square and discussed over 2nd World War. In this regard one of my friend was sharing the prophetically views from Bible, he said how end time will be and then about Judgment . All these matters was revealed in my heart. God spoke to me in my Heart, if you are to die today where will you go? Hell or heaven? a new desire was put in my heart and I was anxious for prayer. I went to the college Hostel and Lockup the room knelt down with tears and confessed all my sins before Jesus Christ. After the prayer I knew my sins were washed and I experienced a heavenly peace, joy and salvation in my life. My heart was full of His praises. He was married to Indu and they have two daughters. Wife also comes from Hindu background. Have two daughters. She was instrumental in his conversion and supports him in the ministry. On 01.11.77 by the inspiration of Holy spirit, I desired to pray whole night and I wanted to go to the jungle and pray. But some of my friends came to my house where we prayed the whole night, at night on 2.11.1977 the Holy Spirit endowed over me and I become something like mad, always speaking tongues and Holy Spirit showed me many hearts and I was weeping for them and counseling for their repentance in this way God Gave me the Gift to cast out Demons and the Gift of healing and is using me till date, for His glory. By the grace of God he is using me for His glory. Please uphold me in your fervent prayers, as God is using me for this perishing mob of the catastrophic world . |

Pastor Girish Chander comes from a Hindu family. In my family there was satanic problem. But God helped us to over come that problem. And He saved our Family from so many problems. I can say by faith that God is always with me and He allows us to overcome satanic things. I thank God that He has saved me from eternal death. I was involved in witchcraft and all kinds of demon and other forms of worship of various gods and goddesses. One day when I was wondering about the real god, a pastor visited our house and said real peace can be obtained only through Jesus Christ. He told me how and why Satan fakes and how Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. I then believed in Jesus and repented of all my sins and invited Him to my life. He is my Saviour and provides all our needs. May the Lord use my life for His glory.
